Eliot Flats is Denver’s first Energy Star certified energy efficient modular apartment community made up of 40 iUnits and located in the heart of the popular Lower Highlands neighborhood in Denver. The building features 30 studios and 10 one-bedroom units, offering high walkability to restaurants, bars, running and biking trails, public transit and easily accessible via bike or bus to downtown Denver, light rail and countless other community amenities. The roof-top deck offers breathtaking view of downtown’s core and the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the mountain peaks.
Eliot Flats gave us the opportunity to test our building method which we believe is the only way to achieve a repeatable high efficiency building envelope that is required to achieve NetZero. Eliot Flats will also allow us to test our v1 of our app and interact directly with our tenants for feedback.
We believe people want to be more aware of the energy use from their living environment and given the proper tools, want to play a role in helping reduce their energy use. The first tenants of Eliot Flats will have that opportunity and their feedback will help shape our solutions.
All of our living spaces are built in a controlled factory environment which means the materials that go into our buildings haven’t been exposed to water, snow or ice before they become part of the permanent structure. This translates to better air quality for our users, and a higher efficiency and more sustainable building process.
We call our units SmartUnits, from the way we design for efficient living to the technology we embed in them, they truly are SmartUnits. Some of the cool technology we are excited to have at Eliot Flats include a wireless Bluetooth speaker in every unit, a wireless power charging station in every build in desk in each unit, Nest thermostats, smart water meter and energy use monitoring. There are 30 studios and 10 one bedrooms, all feature large windows to let natural light in and high 9’ ceilings. Also built in storage is addressed in all units with a fully built in closet and built in shelves in all bathrooms.
